Who We Are
While the evangelists in COTBE are mainly, full-time, vocational, itinerant evangelists, preaching and singing the gospel of Christ in crusades, revivals and Bible Conferences, some also use other venues and methods to bring men, women, boys and girls to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, and disciple them for Christ.
Some proclaim the Gospel in great coliseums, convention centers, under tents, and in stadiums, and of course in the pulpits of Southern Baptist Churches throughout Texas and around the world.
Some of these Vocational Evangelists are also called, specially gifted and anointed, to share Jesus Christ one-on-one in rescue missions, in schools, in prisons, in jails, among city gangs, on street corners, at motorcycle rallies, state fairs, and rodeos, as well as in local churches. Most evangelists have more than one type of ministry. Here is a list of some of their venues, methods, and types of ministries.
These specialized ministry evangelists have been challenged by the Apostle Paul when he said, "I have become all things to all men that I might by all means save some. Now this I do for the gospel’s sake." (I Corinthians 9:22-23)
Purposes of COTBE
Constitution
To preserve, secure, and protect our independence as Vocational Evangelists, and to promote our legitimacy, creditability, doctrinal integrity, and our denominational affiliation and cooporation with Southern Baptists everywhere, especially with the Baptist General Convention of Texas and the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention.
Mission Statement
We do moreover confess Jesus Christ, the Son of God, as Lord and Savior and declare our obedience to the Great Commission, our willingness to advance its purpose, and our availability to fulfill its meaning as we declare and affirm our belief that the Holy Bible is the infallible, inerrant Word of God.
